Hello Everyone

Welcome to my PS4 Firmware & Tools Collection!

Getting Started

Types of firmwares

OFW = Original Firmware from Sony
DEX = Original Firmware from Sony (Developer) only testing / debug PS4 consoles
CFW = Custom Firmware, professionally modified open PS4 firmware
(There is not any custom firmware / exploits for PS4 yet)

PlayStation 4 Operating System

Name: ORBIS OS
Based on: FreeBSD 9.0
Platform: 64 bits (x86_64)

Where to put PS4UPDATE.PUP file on usb drive

(Make the directory in folders on usb as stated here)

(USB Directory) > PS4 > UPDATE > PS4UPDATE.PUP file

How to get into safe mode and install PS4 update

1. Connect the USB storage device that the update file is saved on, into your PS4.

2. Turn off the PlayStation 4 by pressing the power button. The power will blink for a few seconds before turning off.

3. Once the PlayStation 4 is off, press and hold the power button. Release it after you've heard two beeps: one when you first press, and another 7 seconds later.

4. Connect the DualShock 4 controller with the USB cable and press the PS button on the controller.

5. Select [Update System Software] Then follow the screen to complete the installation.

Since there are no mods or anything its pretty much pointless, unless something is in development but this goes to show PS4 is ready to be jailbroken
