When Street Fighter x Tekken turned out to be a bit of a disappointment, the hype for its sibling,Tekken x Street Fighter - which was originally announced all the way back in 2010 - died down a little. The two titles were supposedly going to sit side by side, but news of the latter slowly started to fade away over time.
And now, here we are in 2016, and we haven't heard a peep from the project in ages. It's no surprise, then, that in an interview with GameSpot, Tekken kingpin Katsuhiro Harada has revealed that the title is no longer in active development. Harada states: "a good window in which to release Tekken x Street Fighter is something that's become difficult recently. So it's on hold for the moment."
It makes sense, though. With Street Fighter V busy trying to prove itself and Tekken 7 due out on consoles at some point in the relatively near future, neither Capcom nor Bandai Namco will want to draw attention away from their current projects.
Still, were you looking forward to this one, or has it been way too long since we heard anything concrete? Make your own crossover in the comments section below.
